Washington state is on fire and we need help. More than 250,000 acres have burned across Washington state so far this year during one of the most destructive fire seasons yet. Along with wildfires, WA state has been experiencing worsening droughts, low snow, and increased atmospheric rivers.

Climate change has already caused extraordinary harm in WA. Taxpayers should not be the ones paying for the costs of extreme weather.

It's time for WA to make polluters pay into a climate superfund that will get money to communities most in need of recovery and resilience. The companies who are responsible for these climate-fueled disasters should be the ones to pay for the damages, not WA residents.

States like Vermont and New York are leading the way by requiring fossil fuel companies to pay their fair share through climate superfunds.

Western states facing these increasingly deadly storms deserve the same protection. Sign this action to tell your state officials to introduce and support a Climate Superfund.
